Qualifications in Health and Social Care

All qualifications offered by Q Training (Bristol) Ltd are delivered in the workplace and by skilled assessors who have hands on experience of working in health and social care.

We are an approved City and Guilds assessment centre and subject to rigorous monitoring by that organisation to ensure that we continue to offer learning opportunities of the highest quality. In recent our learners and Q Training (Bristol) Ltd itself have won prizes from City and Guilds for the standard of our work including the Medal for Excellence and one of our trainers, Mary Webb, has also won a Medal for Excellence.

Each learner is provided with a full induction, evidence portfolio and study materials.

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services - from £1845

IMGP4064-001_Dementia_award_and_cert_portfolios The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership is relevant for managers at different levels of seniority working in the wide variety of personalised social care services that are now available as well as care home and nursing home settings.

Care services of whatever kind require skilled and careful management if they are to achieve the best possible outcomes for the people who use them. The Level 5 Leadership Diploma has  90 Credits. Workforce Development Fund (WDF) funding can mean that £1200 can be reclaimed upon providing proof of achievement giving a net cost of £645

In 2015, a Q Training (Bristol) Ltd Learner Jacqui Harrison, won a City and Guilds Medal for Excellence for her portfolio of evidence for this qualification

RQF Diploma in Adult Care

From 1st January 2018 the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework) City and Guilds  Diploma in Adult Care has replaced the QCF Health and Social Care Health and Social Care Diplomas for all new learners.  Although the structure of the new qualifications is similar to the QCF diplomas, they have been brought up to date and revised and improved.

  • Level 2 - £1170 - 46 credits -  Workforce Development Fund (WDF) funding can mean that £690 can be reclaimed upon providing proof of achievement giving a net cost of £480
  • Level 3 - £1395) - 58 credits - WDF funding can mean that £870 can be reclaimed upon providing proof of achievement giving a net cost of £525
  • Level 4 - £1495 - 70 credits. At the time of writing no WDF funding is currently available for this qualification.

Diplomas are designed for people who support and assist individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs or maintaining their independence. Each Diploma is made up of a mixture of mandatory units, specific pathway units and optional units, based on skills, competence and knowledge.

Qualifications in Dementia Care

  • Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia £495 - WDF funding of up to £120 available upon providing proof of achievement
  • Level 3 Award in Awareness of Dementia £595 -  WDF funding of up to £180 available upon providing proof of achievement

These qualifications provide an introduction into dementia care practice and are assessed by assignments. They are four unit qualifications and are suitable for people who are not yet working in a dementia care setting or who are just starting work in this field.

  • Level 2 - 8 credits. Level 3 - 11 credits

Level 2 Certificate in Dementia Care - £795 - Level 2 - 18 credits - WDF funding of up to £300 available  upon providing proof of achievement

Level 3 Certificate in Dementia Care - £895 - Level 3 - 21 credits - WDF funding of up to £420 available upon providing proof of achievement

These qualifications are suitable for anyone already working in dementia care and provide the opportunity to develop both knowledge and skills in this area of work. To achieve these qualifications you will need to build a portfolio demonstrating your knowledge, skills, understanding and care values. The Certificates are assessed by a combination of assignments and assessment of competence in practical work.
