Basic Life Support Training

This session will provide learners with the basic first aid actions which can be used to support the individual in the case of injury, accident or health emergency until a more qualified person or the emergency services can attend.

The session is delivered by a NUCO registered trainer but although it includes aspects of  the full accredited Emergency First Aid at Work, it is not a recognised qualification.

The course contributes to the knowledge required for Care Certificate Standard 12 and covers the following:

• Primary assessment
• Safe Airway/recovery position
• CPR
• Heart attacks/defibrillators
• Choking
• Bleeding
• Shock
• Scalds /burns
